Summer Writing Camps Pennsylvania

Who doesn’t want to create masterpieces like JK Rowling, the way she came up with Harry Potter? But, that tone, semantics, choice of words, dialogues, plot, and organization require time, energy, attention, and a lot of hard work. And, as professionals in the training industry, we understand that it is always a tedious task for you to look for legit creative writing summer camps for high school students in Pennsylvania, that would pique their interest and keep them engaged.

Writing Camps for high school students

Most teenagers nowadays are quite sensitive. They don’t feel like attending after-school classes, co-curricular activities, or anything that would require a connection with their academics. That’s why it’s always a better idea to opt for creative writing summer camps as compared to daily writing classes. Keeping the interest of teenagers in view, we have designed our campus, materials, and resources in a way that would make them habitually inquisitive and keep them engaged. We teach teenagers how to produce works of literature using national common core standards. Whether they struggle with fantasy or your high school kid is a die-hard fan of murder mysteries, we deliver all that it takes to create legendary characters like Sherlock Holmes. That’s because we teach from the basics – types of writing, research, academics, outlines, vocabulary, brainstorming till the self-publishing of their written narrative project.

What do we offer in our writing camps for middle schoolers and high school students?

Yes, it’s not just a bunch of creative writing prompts distributed in a random short course. We have our history of organizing full flash summer writing camps in Pennsylvania.

  • Here, they learn from the basics – brainstorming ideas for a fiction novel, developing a comprehensive storyline, dividing it into sequential events and plot, climax, resolution, development of characters (hero, heroines, and villains), writing dialogues, imagery and creating suspense.

  • A good chunk of our covers analyses of simple to complex texts and excerpts of books from a different genre.

  • And, not only books – we study figurative language in song lyrics, rap, music, art, poetry, and connect all of them to written prose.

  • In our , each child gets to work in groups of mixed-ability and gets one-on-one attention whenever required. Plus, we have our self-reflecting sessions where they express and compare their own progress on a periodic basis.

  • We never underestimate the importance of proof-reading and so, we nip in the bud. Students get to correct their grammatical and contextual errors every day as they move ahead with their stories. We have our proofreading champions who guide them at every step, plus, they receive automated help from premium software and apps.

  • Then, they publish their work through different media and channels. Our alumni have published their digital downloads on platforms like Amazon Kindle, and now, they are monetizing their ability to create written content.

It’s not just an ordinary experience in creative writing summer camps. It’s a journey from a word to a masterpiece! Are you and your middle schooler ready?
